Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled, versatile Packaging Line Lead to oversee the daily operation of our canned beverage carton packaging machinery, lead our production floor staff, and assist with occasional warehouse fulfillment duties. This is a hybrid role requiring a technical focus on machinery troubleshooting, leadership capabilities, and a hands-on approach to logistics.
Core Responsibilities:
Machine Operation & Maintenance:
Set up, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot canned beverage carton packaging machinery. Perform routine preventative maintenance, mechanical adjustments, and changeovers to ensure optimal uptime and minimal material waste.
Technical Troubleshooting & Repair:
Act as the primary on-site technical resource for the line. Diagnose mechanical failures and execute timely repairs to maximize line efficiency and minimize downtime.
Team Leadership & Communication:
Supervise, train, and delegate tasks to a small staff of line operators and packagers. Effectively communicate technical issues and practical solutions to team members to maintain workflow momentum.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
Demonstrate a proven ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments (e.g., Warehouse, Operations, and Management).
Warehouse & Logistics:
Safely operate a forklift to move raw materials or finished pallets. Assist with occasional warehouse duties, including picking, staging, and packing distribution orders accurately for shipment when the line is not operating.
Administration & Documentation:
Maintain accurate electronic logs of production output, maintenance activities, safety incidents, and inventory movements.
Qualifications:
Experience:
2+ years of experience operating automated packaging or production machinery is required. Experience operating and maintaining cartoner packaging machinery is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong technical troubleshooting and hands-on repair experience with industrial production equipment is highly preferred.
Leadership:
Demonstrated experience leading, supervising, or training a team in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
Software Skills:
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, for reporting and daily communication.
Logistics & Safety:
Active forklift certification (or willingness to obtain certification upon hire). Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Pay:
$23.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
