TITLE:

Process Technician

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Responsible for the beginning set-up and/or automation processes for production, with emphasis on measures to increase productivity, efficiency and utilization.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate or equivalent and two years of prior plastics manufacturing experience; one year of technical training on injection molding machines and/or automation equipment preferred

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to fill out simple forms

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form

Mechanical aptitude required

Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.

Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Effectively communicate with the shift Supervisor, other departments and other shifts in regard to part quality, equipment, special instructions, corrective action and productivity.

Coordinate warehouse activities to maintain raw materials and outgoing pallets.

Respond to machine alarms and take corrective action involving quality issues, processing and or minor machine, mold and auxiliary equipment repairs.

Actively participate in Total Housekeeping Management.

Provide technical assistance in maintaining expected levels of productivity in order to fulfill scheduling and quality requirements.

Assist in shift operations as necessary and be proactive in contributing creative and/or innovative ideas for continuous improvement in addition to assistance with special projects as assigned.

Complies with government regulations in adherence of EPA, MSDS, Lock/out-Tag/Out and all other proper safety standards

Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION

Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration.
