Production Technician -
Liquid Cooling Troubleshooting Project:
Google AI / Data Center Server Position Summary The Production Technician - Liquid Cooling is responsible for troubleshooting failed units based on reported symptoms, test results, and failure information. The technician will diagnose hardware and liquid-cooling related issues, identify the root cause of failure, perform approved repair or component replacement, and verify that repaired units successfully pass required testing. This role works closely with Production, Test Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality, and other support teams to ensure failed units are diagnosed accurately and returned to production as quickly as possible. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot failed Google AI/Data Center server units based on reported symptoms and test failure results. Review failure symptoms, test logs, error messages, and repair history before beginning troubleshooting. Perform systematic fault isolation to determine the most likely failed component or assembly. Diagnose hardware-related failures involving server components and liquid-cooling systems. Troubleshoot issues involving cold plates, pumps, manifolds, tubing, fittings, sensors, connectors, cables, boards, and other related components. Inspect units for visible damage, loose connections, improper installation, leaks, contamination, or abnormal conditions. Perform approved component replacement, reseating, adjustment, or rework based on troubleshooting findings. Verify cable connections, component installation, torque requirements, and cooling-system connections. Support leak checks and other liquid-cooling verification as required. Retest repaired units and confirm that the original failure symptom has been resolved. Escalate complex or repeat failures to Engineering when the issue cannot be resolved at technician level. Clearly document troubleshooting findings, repair actions, replaced parts, and final unit disposition. Update repair logs and tracking systems accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain product and component traceability throughout the troubleshooting and repair process. Identify recurring failure patterns and communicate trends to Engineering, Quality, and Production leadership. Follow approved troubleshooting procedures, SOPs, work instructions, and engineering guidance. Handle electronic components according to ESD requirements. Maintain a clean and organized troubleshooting area in accordance with 5S standards. Follow all company safety, quality, and customer requirements. Support production recovery activities to minimize downtime and reduce failed-unit backlog. Perform other troubleshooting and repair duties as assigned. Job Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in server troubleshooting, electronics repair, hardware repair, manufacturing test, or technical support preferred. Ability to troubleshoot failures using symptoms, test results, and logical fault-isolation methods. Basic understanding of computer/server hardware and electronic components. Familiarity with AI servers, data-center hardware, or liquid-cooling systems is preferred. Ability to read work instructions, repair procedures, test results, and engineering documentation. Ability to use hand tools, torque tools, diagnostic equipment, and basic test equipment. Basic computer skills for reviewing test data and updating repair records. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify when an issue should be escalated to Engineering. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple failed units. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing and repair environment. Must follow ESD, safety, quality, and 5S requirements. Education and Experience:
High School Diploma required. Previous experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Detail oriented with ability to follow directions precisely. Computer literate in a Windows environment. Written and spoken English skills; bilingual in Spanish a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 65 pounds. Ability to distinguish between colors with good visual acuity. Able to squat, stoop, twist, and bend. Ability to walk and stand on cement floors for long periods.
