Summary The Production Technician is responsible for completing customer orders that involve detailed assembly, wiring, programming, and modification of components to meet specific requirements. This role ensures that all products meet established quality standards, supports continuous improvement efforts, and maintains a safe, organized, and clean work environment. Key Responsibilities Production Operations Perform detailed mechanical and electrical assemblies according to customer specifications. Complete wiring tasks, including routing, termination, labeling, and testing. Program components, devices, or systems as required for each order. Modify parts, assemblies, or configurations based on customer-specific requirements. Quality Control Inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and design specifications. Conduct functional tests to verify the proper operation of programmed and wired components. Document and report any nonconformities, defects, or required rework. Maintenance & Safety Conduct basic preventive maintenance and assist maintenance technicians with repairs. Maintain a clean and organized workspace to meet safety and cleanliness standards. Adhere to all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and hazard reporting. Participate in safety training and continuous improvement programs. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate logs, production records, and downtime reports. Communicate issues and updates to the Production Manager. Support root-cause analysis for production issues as needed. Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required. Prior experience in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment preferred. Basic mechanical or technical aptitude required. Skills Ability to operate machinery and use basic hand tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to read work instructions, diagrams, and measurement tools (e.g., calipers, gauges). Basic computer literacy for logs, reports, or automated systems. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (or as required by facility). Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, heat, or moving equipment. Work Schedule Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
