Winder Operator Temp-to-Hire Pay:

1st Shift, 7:30 AM3:30 PM, MondayFriday Position Summary The Winder Operator is responsible for setting up and operating wire/bobbin winding equipment, maintaining continuous machine operation, monitoring product quality, and ensuring work is completed safely and according to manufacturing specifications. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate bobbin/wire winding machines according to detailed manufacturing specifications. String wire through winding equipment and adjust footage counters as required. Monitor and maintain oil levels in equipment. Record production information needed for labeling. Place completed bobbins on designated wire tables. Pull required materials from the warehouse. Keep machines operating continuously and efficiently. Monitor equipment and listen for unusual machine sounds or changes in operation. Identify and report production, equipment, quality, or safety issues to the Team Lead. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow 5S/Lean Manufacturing practices. Follow all safety and quality procedures. Work with Maintenance to troubleshoot equipment issues. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Production experience preferred but not required. Basic computer skills. Basic knowledge of hand tools. Good math, reading, and writing skills. Strong verbal and interpersonal communication. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Troubleshooting and problem-solving ability. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong attention to detail and product quality. Ability to maintain continuous visual, mental, and auditory attention. Must pass pre-employment screening. Physical Requirements This is a physically active manufacturing position requiring: Frequent lifting/carrying of materials, including items weighing 2150 lbs. Frequent bending, twisting/turning, reaching below the knee, squatting, and kneeling. Frequent lifting above the shoulders. Continuous standing and walking. Continuous pushing and pulling. Extended periods of standing and repetitive movement. High degree of manual dexterity. Ability to work safely around moving machinery and reels. Working Environment Manufacturing environment with high noise levels. Exposure to moving machinery and reels. Required PPE includes steel-toe shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection. Must be comfortable working flexible hours and accepting mandatory/short-notice overtime.
