Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Utilize on the job training in various material handling and machine operation positions to safely process and sort strips of wood by length and grade either for manufacturing or packaging, while watching for defects. Exhibit a professional work attitude and cooperate with all Supervisors, Managers, coworkers, etc. as required to ensure seamless and efficient production. Work to promote cost control, safety, quality, legal compliance, and achievement of schedules to meet production goals.
HIGH EFFICIENCY TASKS
Read, learn, and follow all company policies regarding personal performance, safety, and attendance to ensure optimal production performance. Master all technical training required for the performance of various production tasks to advance in the company. Perform well in a team environment or autonomously on projects. Support all technical/mechanical/maintenance projects as needed, to the extent training allows. Implement required training on the job to ensure safety compliance, to ensure quality products, and to meet established standards and expectations.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow instructions of Supervisors, Trainers, & Management. Strive daily to improve safety and production procedures and efficiency. Work to have excellent attendance, willingness to learn, and a cooperative attitude. Perform all production tasks assigned to the best of your ability. Stay current on new applicable processes & latest technology.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS SHIFT AVAILABILITY
This position requires availability for second shift, typically between 3:30 PM and 3:00 AM. Flexibility to work additional hours as needed is preferred.
BACKGROUND
High School Diploma / GED or relevant work experience
EXPERIENCE
Minimal required. On the job training provided, but all previous experience is considered. SKILLS Communication, People skills, Leadership, Adaptable, New Concept, Analytical & Problem solving, Some computer skills.
