Job Description

Journeyman Electrical Technician Koss Industrial is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrical Technician to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and commission industrial electrical systems, control panels, instrumentation, and food processing equipment. This is a hands-on industrial electrical role supporting both in-house manufacturing and customer-site installations. The ideal candidate has strong experience with industrial controls, motors, VFDs, instrumentation, electrical troubleshooting, and control panel wiring. What You'll Do Assemble, wire, test, troubleshoot, and commission industrial electrical control panels and systems Install, maintain, modify, and repair industrial electrical equipment, motors, VFDs, instrumentation, sensors, transmitters, and control devices Troubleshoot electrical and control system failures using electrical testing equipment and determine effective corrective actions Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, blueprints, and technical documentation Assemble UL 508A industrial control panels in accordance with applicable standards Install, configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation and pneumatic control components Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime Complete electrical installations, startups, commissioning, troubleshooting, and service work at customer facilities Ensure work complies with NEC, UL, OSHA, safety requirements, and customer specifications Maintain accurate service, testing, inspection, calibration, and repair documentation Work closely with engineering, project management, fabrication, and customer teams Maintain a safe, organized work environment and provide professional customer service What We're Looking For 3-5 years of industrial electrical, controls, installation, troubleshooting, or maintenance experience Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent education, training, and industrial electrical experience preferred Experience with industrial motors, motor controls, transformers, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, and electrical systems up to 600 volts Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical specifications Experience with industrial automation, instrumentation, sensors, transmitters, and pneumatic controls UL 508A control panel assembly experience preferred Working knowledge of NEC, UL requirements, OSHA regulations, and electrical safety practices Experience using multimeters, megohm meters, clamp meters, calibration tools, and related electrical testing equipment Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and time-management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed Why This Role This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of industrial electrical and automation projects, from control panel assembly and equipment troubleshooting to customer installations and commissioning. You'll work closely with engineering, fabrication, project management, and customers while playing an important role in the quality and reliability of Koss Industrial equipment and systems.
