Position Overview The Production Technician III is an advanced-level electronics technician responsible for diagnosing, repairing, refurbishing, securing, and preparing technology assets for reuse. This role is ideal for experienced technicians who enjoy hands-on work, technical troubleshooting, hardware repair, and problem-solving. As a senior member of the production team, you'll develop expertise across multiple technology platforms while becoming a subject matter expert in specialized asset categories. You'll work with a wide range of equipment including laptops, desktops, servers, networking equipment, Apple devices, and mobility products, helping maximize asset value and support our sustainability mission. What You'll Do Technology Evaluation & Diagnostics ✅ Audit and document incoming technology assets ✅ Perform diagnostics and functional testing ✅ Evaluate cosmetic and operational condition ✅ Assign condition grades based on established standards ✅ Accurately record asset details and services performed within Sage systems Data Security & Asset Processing ✅ Perform certified data destruction and data sanitization procedures ✅ Verify completion of data security services ✅ Maintain quality and compliance standards throughout processing Repair, Refurbishment & Upgrades ✅ Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues ✅ Perform repairs and upgrades that maximize product value ✅ Install and configure operating systems ✅ Replace or repair components as needed ✅ Prepare equipment for resale and redeployment Quality Assurance ✅ Conduct detailed functional and cosmetic inspections ✅ Verify services performed meet customer and company requirements ✅ Ensure accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail throughout production processes Specialization Opportunities Production Technician III team members develop advanced expertise in one or more of the following areas: Apple Technologies MacBooks iPads Apple ecosystem diagnostics and repair Enterprise Servers Server testing and configuration Enterprise hardware upgrades Component replacement and troubleshooting Networking Equipment Switches Routers Enterprise networking hardware Mobility Devices Smartphones Tablets Mobile device diagnostics and refurbishment What Success Looks Like The ideal candidate: Enjoys solving technical problems Takes pride in producing quality work Has strong attention to detail Thrives in a fast-paced production environment Works independently while contributing to team goals Continuously looks for opportunities to improve processes and performance Is passionate about technology and sustainability Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED 2+ years of hands-on experience working with computer hardware, electronics, or technology equipment Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Experience with hardware repair, testing, or refurbishment Ability to accurately document work within databases and tracking systems Preferred Experience repairing laptops, desktops, servers, networking equipment, or mobile devices Knowledge of Apple products and operating systems Familiarity with data destruction or IT asset disposition (ITAD) Experience working within ERP or inventory management systems Certifications such as A+, Apple, or other technology-related credentials Skills & Competencies We're looking for team members who demonstrate: Advanced knowledge of IT and electronic hardware Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Exceptional attention to detail Quality-focused decision making Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks and meet production goals Comfort working independently and collaboratively Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer applications Adaptability and a continuous improvement mindset Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on role within a production environment.
