The Gund Company Inc., a family-owned manufacturer of engineered electrical and mechanical insulation materials, is seeking an Operator II to support our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will operate and monitor production equipment, set up and adjust machinery, and inspect parts to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. You'll handle materials, record production data, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues. Working in our safety-first, team-oriented environment, you'll contribute to continuous improvement while gaining hands-on experience with advanced materials for critical industries. Responsibilities Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment per work instructions Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment for optimal performance Inspect materials and finished parts for quality and adherence to specifications Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area Accurately record production data, counts, and downtime in logs or systems Work closely with engineering and quality teams to resolve production issues Perform basic preventive maintenance and report equipment problems promptly Handle raw materials and finished goods, including loading and staging Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives Support team goals for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity Required Skills Manufacturing equipment operation Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting Reading blueprints or technical drawings Using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) Basic computer and data entry skills Quality inspection and documentation Safety procedures and PPE use Material handling and staging Basic preventive maintenance Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement awareness
