Job Description

We are particularly interested in engineers coming from commercial vessels, container ships, tankers, offshore vessels, or other Merchant Marine environments . The position requires a strong, well-rounded mechanical background. The right candidate does not need to come directly from the recreational boat or yacht industry; Royal River is interested in technically strong engineers who can troubleshoot complex systems and adapt their experience to smaller vessels. Key Experience We're Looking For Merchant Marine or commercial vessel engineering experience Marine diesel engines and mechanical systems Hydraulics and pumps Refrigeration and HVAC systems Electrical troubleshooting Generators and auxiliary equipment Preventive maintenance and repair Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability Ability to work across multiple vessel systems rather than specializing in only one area This is particularly well suited for a former Chief Engineer, First Assistant Engineer, Second Assistant Engineer, Third Assistant Engineer, QMED, or experienced marine engineer who wants to come ashore permanently.
