Job Description

Apply Solution Development Manager - Marine & Offshore Location Germany Job Type Permanent We are supporting a global leader in technical solutions for the Marine & Offshore sector, Saint-Gobain, in the search for a Solution Development Manager. This is a technical, engineering-focused position that sits between customers, product development, and R D. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, identifying technical challenges, and driving the development of innovative solutions for the marine market from BoS to Market Launch. Rather than a traditional sales role, this position focuses on solution development, technical expertise, and bringing new products and systems from concept through to implementation. Responsibilities Work closely with customers, engineering, R D, and production teams to develop innovative technical solutions. Translate customer needs into clear technical specifications and development projects. Support product development activities from concept, testing, and validation through to market introduction. Contribute to fire, acoustic, and performance testing programmes, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and certifications. Act as a technical expert for customers and internal stakeholders. Monitor market trends and emerging technologies to identify future development opportunities. Requirements Degree qualified in Engineering, Naval Architecture, Design Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Experience within shipbuilding, marine interiors, technical materials, product development, or related engineering environments. Backgrounds in insulation, fire protection, acoustic solutions, doors, panels, wall systems, or other interior outfitting applications would be of particular interest. Ability to translate customer requirements into practical engineering solutions. Strong communication skills and experience working across multiple stakeholders. R D experience strongly desirable. Curious, hands-on, and solution-oriented with a passion for innovation and product development.
