Job Description

JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for developing welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of metals, utilizing knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals and metal alloys, and engineering principles. Conducts research and development investigations to develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures, improve existing or develop new welding equipment, develop new or modify current welding methods, techniques, and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, pre- and post-heating requirements which involve use of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, welding of critical joints, and complex post heating requirements. Design and create any required welding fixtures for standard product production. Develop internal pacification methods to pacify welds. Evaluate new developments in welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes. Direct and coordinate technical personnel in performing inspections to ensure workers' compliance with established welding procedures, restrictions, and standards; in testing welds for conformance with national code requirements; or testing welding personnel for certification. Partner with Buyers to develop a supply chain for welding consumables, and any weldment parts that can be outsourced to support the product line. Fixture, weld and assemble product to customer specifications. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
QUALIFICATIONS
BS degree in Materials Engineering or Welding Engineering; or 10+ years' experience in the applicable subject matter welding. At least a level II Visual Weld Inspector training required. 2-4 years of experience in welding or stainless steel required. Proficient in all aspects of quality and quality systems including ISO 9000 and similar benchmarks. 3D Modeling Ability to use computers and software programs including: SolidWorks Auto
CAD 2D MS
Outlook MS Word MS Excel Individuals must be able to work independently and professionally to support a startup environment. $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
