Header Job Overview We are developing a professional welding training center in Jacksonville, Florida, focused on preparing students for employment in the shipbuilding, marine, construction, manufacturing, and industrial sectors .We are seeking an experienced Welding Instructor who can provide hands-on welding instruction and classroom training to beginning and experienced students.

The ideal candidate will have substantial practical welding experience, strong knowledge of welding safety and procedures, and the ability to teach students in a structured vocational training environment. Header Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on welding instruction in a professional training environment.
• Teach welding theory, safety, equipment operation, and proper welding techniques.
• Train students in SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), and FCAW (Flux-Cored) processes as applicable to the program.
• Teach welding positions, joint preparation, fit-up, welding symbols, blueprint/technical drawing interpretation, and inspection fundamentals.
• Demonstrate proper use of welding machines, tools, PPE, ventilation, and safety equipment.
• Monitor and evaluate student welding performance and progress.
• Prepare students for welding qualification tests and industry employment.
• Emphasize OSHA and workplace safety practices.
• Maintain accurate student attendance, progress, skills evaluations, and training records.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized welding laboratory.
• Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement of the training program.
• Participate in required professional development and instructor training.

Deliver engaging classroom and practical welding instruction tailored to adult learners and post-secondary students. Header Skills

• Minimum 3 years of successful, directly related welding industry experience , OR
• Postsecondary welding training from a state-licensed school or accredited college plus at least 1 year of related welding experience .
• Demonstrated proficiency in the welding processes being taught.
• Strong practical knowledge of welding equipment, safety procedures, and industrial welding practices.
• Ability to demonstrate welding techniques and effectively explain them to students.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Welding certifications such as AWS Certified Welder, NCCER, or other recognized industry credentials are strongly preferred.
• Shipyard, marine, structural, pipe, or industrial welding experience is highly desirable.

Extensive knowledge of welding techniques including MIG, TIG, Stick, and flux-cored processes. Preferred Experience Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Shipbuilding or ship repair
• Marine welding
• Structural welding
• Pipe welding
• FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW
• Blueprint and weld-symbol interpretation
• Welding procedure specifications (WPS)
• Welder qualification testing
• AWS standards and certification
• OSHA workplace safety
• Training or supervising welders CIE Faculty Qualification Requirements This position is intended to meet the faculty qualification requirements applicable to a Florida Commission for Independent Education licensed non-degree vocational/diploma program.

The selected instructor must be able to provide documentation supporting his or her qualifications, including:

• Resume or detailed employment history
• Documentation of welding education/training, when applicable
• Copies of welding licenses and/or industry certifications
• Verification of relevant welding employment experience
• Official transcripts for postsecondary degrees or training, when applicable
• Documentation of required continuing education and professional development Florida CIE regulations require licensed institutions to maintain evidence of faculty credentials and qualifications.

Non-degreed faculty must demonstrate competence in the subjects taught through qualifying postsecondary training and related experience or through at least three years of successful job experience directly related to the subjects taught. Professional Development The instructor will be expected to participate in continuing professional development related to the position. CIE-licensed institutions must maintain records of 8 hours of faculty training each year .
