QE Weld / Assembly - 1st Shift - John Deere Harvester Works This is a vital, long-term 2+ year contract opportunity paying up to $50/hr, including 2 Weeks of PTO. Serving as an Order Fulfillment Process (OFP) Quality Engineer at Harvester Works, you will drive closed-loop corrective actions, optimize tooling and process controls, and implement continuous improvement initiatives across weld and assembly lines.
Position Details & Compensation Pay Rate:
Up to $50/hr (W2).
Location:
100% Onsite at Harvester Works (East Moline, IL).
Duration:
2+ Years.
Shift:
1st Shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM).
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, with flexibility required for off-shifts and weekends as needed.
Direct experience in manufacturing assembly, welding processes, and working in a production environment.
Technical Blueprint Literacy:
Proven ability to read engineering prints, CMM reports, and complex measurement data.
Shop Floor Documentation:
Practical experience with Sequence of Events (SOE), PFMEA, and Operator Method Sheets (OMS).
Cross-Functional Communication:
Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively alongside both wage and salaried personnel.
Education & Flexibility:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent work experience); willingness to work off-shifts and weekends when necessary. What Makes You Stand Out Experience using MPPlanner for SOE and OMS development. Expertise in closed-loop corrective action methodologies. Familiarity with JDAAT coding and MES systems (SAP, Ignition, etc.). Practical experience with torque tooling, AutoCAD, or Creo View software. Prior engineering experience within a unionized manufacturing environment.
