Job Description

Lewis and Clark Community College is currently seeking an Adjunct, Welding Technology to work on the Godfrey, IL campus on Tuesday and Thursday mornings beginning October 20, 2026. LC's Mission is to empower people by raising aspirations and fostering achievement through dynamic, compassionate and responsible learning experiences. Create, administer, and grade assignments of LC students; Calculate and submit grades for students; Collaborate with Professors on coursework; Stay current on material in the needed field of study; Provide support and guidance for students as needed. 2000 clock hours of verified occupational experience in welding technology; Must be tactful, have good interpersonal skills and sound judgment. Possesses good organizational skills; knowledge of record keeping procedures, including the ability to collect and organize data and information. Working knowledge and skill with, oxyfuel, plasma, air arc, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW-G, FCAW-F, and GTAW on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum with plate and pipe welding; Drivers license required, Class C or higher; Excellent verbal and oral communication skills; Strong organizational and time management skills. Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or other advanced degree from an accredited college or University in Welding Technology, Industrial Technology Education, Agriculture Education, or related field; Illinois High School Teaching Licensure or ability to obtain; Prior teaching experience Pass D1.1 or ASME XI welding performance test; Certified Welder; AND/OR Certified Welding Inspector; AND/OR Senior Certified Welding Inspector; AND/OR Certified Welding Educator; AND/OR Certified Welding Supervisor; AND/OR Questions regarding the curriculum and position contact: Tom Steinmann tsteinma@lc.edu For Academic Year 2025-2026, the pay rate for adjunct faculty is $52.38 per contact hour.
