Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Tig Welder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in various welding techniques, including TIG and FCAW. As a Tig Welder, your expertise in welding techniques and precision fabrication will be instrumental in producing components to the highest standards of quality and performance. We value and recognize outstanding achievements through our recognition program. Duties and Responsibilities Perform TIG welding on various materials, ensuring precision and quality. Assemble metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Utilize power tools, calipers, and micrometers for accurate measurements and adjustments. Conduct inspections of welds to ensure compliance with codes and standards. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining safety protocols. Troubleshoot welding issues and perform necessary repairs or adjustments. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment is properly stored. Utilize advanced welding techniques to fabricate high-end products, including components for Formula 1 and other specialized applications. Demonstrate proficiency in welding materials and alloys, ensuring precision and accuracy in all welding tasks. Collaborate with engineers and designers to interpret technical drawings and specifications, translating them into finished products with exceptional quality. Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance welding processes and product quality, driving continuous improvement within the welding department. Lead welding projects for specialized applications, providing technical expertise and guidance to the welding team. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget, demonstrating strong project management skills and attention to detail. Mentor junior welders, sharing your expertise and knowledge to facilitate their professional growth and development. Heath & Safety Ensure compliance with all WHS policies as outlined in the HR Manual and Employment Policy guide. Participate and contribute in all WHS Toolbox meetings. Participate in department WHS, Fire and Evacuation and Emergency training. Demonstrate a high degree of safety awareness. Required Qualifications Proven experience as a Tig Welder with proficiency in Stick welding and FCAW techniques. Commitment to quality and excellence, with a meticulous attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement. Familiarity with industry codes and standards related to welding practices. Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications and troubleshoot welding issues effectively. Extensive experience in welding and fabrication, with a focus on high-end products and specialized applications. Project management skills, including the ability to coordinate complex welding projects and ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead welding projects and mentor junior welders. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus. Working Conditions Position will work within a team atmosphere focused on quality production standards as well as best practices for future growth. Position requires activity throughout a manufacturing/ machinery/shop setting. Position requires a significant amount of time standing, bending, and lifting materials required to fulfill the manufacturing process. Position will require interacting and working within a shop/manufacturing environment where welding equipment and various machinery are used. The working environment is non-temp controlled.
