You will be tasked with directing all facets of the operation, including engineering, maintenance, production, safety, and quality, while ensuring financial success and high levels of customer satisfaction. We need a leader with a robust background in manufacturing who possesses a comprehensive grasp of thermal processing, metallurgy, and strategies for continuous improvement. Primary Duties Direct all plant functions, encompassing logistics, engineering, maintenance, quality control, and production. Formulate and implement plans to boost profitability, productivity, delivery speed, quality, and safety standards. Manage day-to-day heat treatment activities to ensure we consistently satisfy production timelines and quality benchmarks. Champion operational excellence by applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to enhance our processes. Track and report on vital metrics such as throughput, scrap rates, equipment downtime, and overall financial health to help maintain a profitable operation. Oversee the development of our staff, including succession planning, performance reviews, and strategic workforce management. Engage with our clients to resolve technical issues, improve processes, and identify new business growth avenues. Guarantee that all facility operations strictly adhere to environmental, safety, and industry-specific regulatory requirements. Supervise facility enhancements, equipment upgrades, and various capital expenditure initiatives. Work alongside quality and engineering departments to refine metallurgical performance and optimize heat treat workflows. Analyze operational costs, labor efficiency, and budgets to ensure the facility meets its financial goals. Cultivate a workplace environment that prioritizes safety, collaboration, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement. Essential Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a comparable technical discipline. At least a decade of leadership experience in industrial settings like machining, casting, forging, heat treating, or metal processing. A minimum of five years in a senior management capacity with direct accountability for P&L. Comprehensive expertise in thermal processing equipment, material properties, and the science of metallurgy. Practical experience with various thermal operations, such as vacuum heat treating, tempering, normalizing, annealing, induction hardening, or carburizing. A demonstrated history of managing large teams to achieve significant operational gains. Deep familiarity with continuous improvement frameworks, customer specifications, and quality management systems. Exceptional skills in decision-making, communication, leadership, and problem-solving. Desired Qualifications Advanced education or specialized training in Materials Science or Metallurgy. Background working with clients in the aerospace, automotive, defense, or heavy industrial sectors. Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing methodologies. Familiarity with quality standards such as
IATF 16949, ISO
9001, CQI-9, or
NADCAP. A
