Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our team and support the growth of our global engineering resources and manufacturing solutions business. This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and expanding relationships with strategically important automotive customers, including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, engineering organizations, and our manufacturing principals. The Account Manager will serve as a key point of contact for day-to-day activities between our customers, engineering teams, manufacturing partners, and Principals, helping identify customer needs and developing solutions that create measurable value. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and expand relationships with strategically important automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, engineering organizations, and manufacturing customers. Generate new business through existing relationships, industry networks, referrals, and targeted prospect development. Identify opportunities for metal-to-plastic conversion, with particular emphasis on automotive driveline components and other applications where weight reduction, cost optimization, performance, and manufacturability are important. Proactively identify new opportunities by canvassing engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and program teams across customer locations. Develop strong relationships with engineering and purchasing personnel to identify upcoming programs, design challenges, and potential conversion opportunities. Understand customer technical requirements and effectively match those requirements with appropriate plastic molding, tooling, materials, and manufacturing solutions. Work closely with global engineering resources, manufacturing Principals, and internal teams to develop technically and commercially viable customer solutions. Create and deliver compelling technical and commercial presentations demonstrating the value proposition of metal-to-plastic conversion and related engineering solutions. Manage a portfolio of key accounts and develop account strategies designed to achieve sustainable, long-term growth. Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned customers and Principals, ensuring timely communication and follow-through. Develop solutions to customer concerns and resolve issues in a timely, professional manner. Communicate project status, customer requirements, opportunities, and potential risks to internal management and engineering teams. Establish and track sales targets in alignment with company objectives. Monitor sales performance, pipeline activity, quarterly results, and annual forecasts. Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and transaction information. Identify emerging customer requirements and communicate market intelligence to management and global engineering/manufacturing partners. Coordinate customer visits, technical discussions, presentations, and program development activities. Travel locally and domestically as required to support customer and Principal relationships. Global Engineering & Manufacturing Resources The Account Manager will work across a global network of engineering and manufacturing resources, leveraging the technical capabilities and specialized expertise of our Principals and partners to address customer requirements. This includes collaborating across disciplines such as: Product and application engineering Plastic injection molding Tooling and mold design Material selection and development Metal-to-plastic conversion Lightweighting and weight reduction Design for manufacturability Prototype and production development Process engineering Cost reduction and value engineering Automotive component development The successful candidate will be expected to understand customer challenges and effectively coordinate the appropriate global resources to develop and present solutions. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. 3-5 years of automotive sales, account management, business development, or engineering-related experience, preferably working with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. Demonstrated understanding of the automotive product development and purchasing environment. Experience selling technical products, engineering services, components, or manufacturing solutions. Knowledge of metal-to-plastic conversion and the ability to identify applications where conversion can provide customer value. Knowledge of automotive components and manufacturing processes. Experience or familiarity with aluminum wheels, aluminum castings, plastic components, injection molding, or related technologies is highly desirable. Strong understanding of engineering requirements and the ability to communicate technical concepts to both engineering and business audiences. Excellent listening, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels within customer, Principal, engineering, and manufacturing organizations. Ability to manage multiple customer opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Willingness and ability to travel locally and domestically as required.
