Job Description

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Corrosion Engineering Intern Duluth to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with pipeline integrity management projects in our growing Corrosion Control group in our Duluth, MN office. This person will receive training in the various phases of engineering work, procedures, standards, specifications, industry terms, and work practices.
Responsibilities:
Assist with providing support in: contracting, design, pipeline integrity management, and/or commissioning functions for projects involving pipelines and related facilities. Complete information interviews with LSC personnel to gain a better understanding of the industry and LSC's contributions towards it. Provide field assistance to field personnel and engineers on cathodic protection and direct assessment projects. Provide technical assistance to the Engineering and Operations departments to help identify and resolve operating inefficiencies and develop best practices. Support the completion of projects using engineering principles and techniques. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics. Produce details of specifications and outline designs. Assist with the preparation of final project reports, technical memorandums, and data deliverables.
Position Requirements:
Education, Certifications/Licenses, Experience:
Current sophomore or junior engineering student Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Proficient in MSOffice Suite Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to learn quickly and develop professionally Ability to multitask, managing multiple assignments Ability to travel, up to 25% Knowledge or interest in the energy industry is a plus
Physical Requirements and Demands:
The job requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation. Routinely use standard office equipment such as but not limited to: computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear. Frequent periods of standing for extended periods. Occasional lifting, up to 50 pounds. Exposure to weather including heat and cold climates. The actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including your skills, experience, and office/market location. The anticipated hourly range for this position is $22 - $26. Our benefits include (for full-time employees):
