Job Description

How You'll Make an Impact (responsibilities) Typical responsibilities include, Conducting welding trials in alignment / directions from welding engineers, documentation, and communication of results Hardware and maintenance experience for a development lab - welding fixtures, interfacing welding power supplies to robots, maintenance and small repairs of lab equipment (in coordination with external vendors, internal maintenance department), etc. Coupon/sample preparation required for welding development - grinding, cutting, metallographic preparation. Adherence to safety protocols including using appropriate PPEs Adhering to Siemens Energy Zero Harm principal is embedded in day-to-day responsibilities What You Bring (requirements) Min. associate degree in Materials, Mechanical, or other related fields. Advanced degree is a plus. Min. 5 years' (preferably more than 10 years) of related successful experience, or equivalent combination of education and related experience is a plus. Knowledge and skills in welding (laser, gas tungsten arc welding, gas metal arc welding). Familiar with robot programming (as it pertains to robotic welding). Fanuc robot experience. Work experience in a manufacturing / lab environment is preferred. Vacuum furnace (e.g. Vacuum brazing) operation for heat treatment incl. PLC programming Non-destructive testing (primarily dye penetrant) Ability to work in a team environment, as required. Demonstrated ability to develop and convey thoughts clearly & concisely through both oral & written communication with people throughout the Service & Manufacturing environment. Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
