HORSCH believes that our employees are key to the success of our business We are looking for a skilled and dependable Welder to join our manufacturing team producing heavy-duty agricultural equipment. This position is responsible for fabricating and welding structural components, frames, assemblies, and other complex weldments used in agricultural machinery. The ideal candidate is more than someone who can simply weld a part together. We are looking for a self-starter who can read and understand technical drawings, work independently, properly fixture complex parts, and think outside the box when solving manufacturing challenges. If you take pride in your work, understand how a quality weldment should be built, and can look at a drawing and visualize how the finished part needs to come together, this could be a great fit.
Key Responsibilities:
Weld and fabricate components and assemblies for agricultural equipment. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, dimensions, tolerances, and assembly instructions . Set up and use fixture tables, welding fixtures, tooling, clamps, and other fabrication equipment to accurately position components. Determine the best approach for fixturing and welding parts based on the drawing and manufacturing requirements. Perform MIG welding on carbon steel and other materials as required. Inspect completed weldments for proper dimensions, fit-up, weld quality, and overall workmanship. Measure parts using tape measures, squares, calipers, levels, and other inspection equipment. Identify problems with fit-up, tooling, dimensions, or weld sequence and determine practical solutions. Make adjustments to fixtures or develop alternative methods when the standard process does not work. Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining production and quality expectations. Follow established welding procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Communicate material, tooling, drawing, or process issues to supervisors and engineering. Work effectively with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and other team members to improve processes and product quality.
Requirements:
Experience welding large or complex OEM weldments . Experience in agricultural, construction, heavy equipment, or industrial manufacturing. Experience building parts from prints with limited step-by-step instruction. Experience creating or modifying fixtures and tooling. Ability to identify opportunities to improve welding sequence, fixturing, quality, or efficiency. Experience with multiple welding processes. Previous experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement
Physical/Work Environment:
This is a hands-on manufacturing position in a production environment. The position requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and working around welding equipment and fabricated steel components. Proper personal protective equipment and safety procedures are required at all times.
