Job Description

Waukesha Foundry seeks a Foundry Metallurgist to lead metallurgical control of high-alloy, complex castings for demanding energy, defense, and industrial customers. You will develop and optimize melting, alloying, and heat-treat processes; define and maintain specifications; and support tooling, molding, and machining to ensure consistent quality. Responsibilities include metallurgical analysis, failure investigation, NDT and mechanical test review, and continuous improvement using data-driven methods. You'll collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality teams in a safety-focused, craftsmanship-driven environment with strong long-term career potential. Responsibilities Develop, document, and optimize melting, alloying, and heat-treat processes for high-alloy castings. Establish and maintain metallurgical specifications, procedures, and quality standards. Analyze microstructures, chemistry, and mechanical test data to validate casting performance. Lead root cause and failure analysis for internal and customer issues and implement corrective actions. Support tooling, molding, and machining teams with metallurgical guidance during new product introduction. Review and interpret NDT and inspection results to ensure compliance with customer and code requirements. Use statistical process control and data analysis to drive yield, quality, and cost improvements. Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality to resolve daily metallurgical and process problems. Train and mentor operators and technicians on metallurgical best practices and procedures. Support customer technical reviews, documentation, and audits related to casting metallurgy.
