Job Description
Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer IV for a Contract with a client in Cupertino, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing structural and thermomechanical models to support product design and performance.

Rate Range:
$85/hour to $95/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Mechanical Engineer IV Job Responsibilities include: Perform non-linear static and dynamic FEA simulations using Abaqus (preferred), Ansys, or similar CAE tools. Develop and analyze structural, thermomechanical, and heat transfer models to evaluate product performance and reliability. Validate simulation results through physical testing, including model calibration, verification, and correlation activities. Model a wide range of materials, including polymers, elastomers, adhesives, and brittle materials, to support design decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, vendors, and management to provide simulation-driven design recommendations. Support product development by identifying potential failure modes and driving design optimizations through advanced CAE analysis.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline. 3+ years of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience, preferably within a high-volume consumer electronics environment. Strong expertise in non-linear static and dynamic simulations using Abaqus, with experience in structural, thermomechanical, and heat transfer analysis. Proven experience developing, calibrating, and validating FEA models through physical testing, with proficiency in material modeling for polymers, elastomers, adhesives, and brittle materials.
