Job Description
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is hiring a Lead Mechanical Engineer to work in Edwards Air Force Base, CA. Qualified candidates must be U.S. citizens and be able to successfully pass a background investigation.
Responsibilities:
- Support facilities engineering, maintenance, and operations at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center.
- Provides mechanical engineering expertise for facility projects including planning, design, construction, operations, and quality assurance.
- Provides support in areas such as planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews, inspections, and test witnessing for contractor performed facility work.
- Coordinate with project managers, operations specialists, and stakeholders to identify conditions, document requirements, and communicate project status.
- Ensure compliance with NASA, federal, state, and local regulations and facility standards.
- Support configuration management, drawing updates, and facility documentation control.
Qualifications Required:
- 7+ years of experience in construction management.
- Prior experience in mechanical design and facility project management.
- Possess strong technical and leadership skills.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering.
- A Professional Engineer Certificate is preferred, but not required.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to successfully pass a background investigation.
- NASA may require a Public Trust, so you must be eligible to obtain one.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel within the United States may be required.
