Job Description

Job Summary Ansync Labs bridges the gap between digital design and physical manufacturing. By maintaining an on-site production facility alongside our multidisciplinary engineering teams, we've replaced traditional hand-offs with a seamless, end-to-end development cycle. We are looking for an early to mid-career Mechanical Engineer who is ready to transition from just "doing tasks" to owning design. At Ansync, our in-house design teams (Electrical, Mechanical, and Software) work steps away from our onsite production facility (Machine Shop and PCBA). You won't just be staring at a CAD screen; you will be in the shop, learning to bridge the gap between a 3D model and a finished product. This role is perfect for an engineer who has a solid technical foundation but is itching for more autonomy and the chance to manage their own projects from concept to delivery.
Responsibilities Mechanical Design:
Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems and assemblies for robotics, industrial automation, and medical devices using Autodesk Inventor.
End-to-End Project Ownership:
Manage the full project lifecycle from concept through production. This includes driving timelines, identifying technical risks, and ensuring project momentum when cross-functional resources are limited.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with electrical and software engineering teams to solve integrated hardware/software challenges at the system level.
In-House Prototyping:
Transition designs into physical assets by utilizing on-site manufacturing resources; candidates are expected to engage with CNC programming and machine operation to accelerate iteration cycles.
Technical Documentation:
Create and maintain comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs), detailed work instructions, and revision-controlled engineering changes to ensure high-quality production hand-offs.
Process Management:
Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks in the development process to meet client deadlines and internal milestones.
Requirements Professional Experience:
0 to 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, product development, or a high-intensity R&D environment.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong command of 3D CAD software; specific expertise in Autodesk Inventor is preferred.
Manufacturing & DFM:
Practical knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. You should understand how to design parts optimized for CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing.
Hands-on Prototyping:
Demonstrated experience with hands-on prototyping. You are comfortable moving between a workstation and a shop environment to build, test, and iterate on physical hardware.
Digital Workflow:
Proven ability to manage documentation and team collaboration within the Google Workspace ecosystem.
Execution & Autonomy:
A "results-first" mindset with the demonstrated ability to maintain project momentum and drive tasks to completion, even when navigating competing priorities or resource constraints.
Customer Management:
Proactive in client interactions with the ability to confidently manage customer expectations regarding timelines, technical constraints, and project milestones without requiring constant oversight.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for translating complex technical challenges into clear, actionable project steps.
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
