• Full-time We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in building systems design across commercial, educational, industrial, and institutional projects.

The role involves full-cycle mechanical engineering design including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. You will collaborate closely with clients, architects, project managers, structural engineers, and construction teams to deliver coordinated, code-compliant construction documents. This position requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the capability to manage multiple projects with limited supervision. Key Responsibilities Develop mechanical engineering construction documents including plans, details, schedules, symbols, and general sheets Prepare HVAC design calculations including airflow, load calculations, and system sizing Perform plumbing system load calculations and equipment sizing Produce mechanical equipment schedules, control diagrams, and plumbing schedules Write and compile project specifications using CSI MasterFormat or similar standards Support development of rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost estimates Respond to RFIs during design and construction phases Conduct Bluebeam-based plan reviews and interdisciplinary coordination Prepare technical reports, meeting notes, and engineering documentation using Word and Excel Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and fire protection disciplines Participate in client meetings, agency coordination, and construction administration support Support review and response process for Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), including city, county, and state agencies Ensure compliance with applicable mechanical codes, energy codes, and building standards Use AutoCAD for production of drawings; Revit experience is a plus Project Types Experience or exposure to the following sectors is highly valued: State and public agency facilities Educational facilities (K-12, colleges, universities) Healthcare facilities (hospitals, clinics, behavioral health, skilled nursing) Correctional and public safety facilities Aerospace and defense-related facilities Industrial and laboratory environments Commercial office buildings Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 5-10 years of experience in mechanical building systems design EIT required (PE license preferred or in progress) Strong understanding of HVAC and plumbing design principles Experience with building codes and AHJ review processes Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel Strong technical writing and communication skills Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects independently Experience preparing engineering cost estimates

Preferred Experience:

Familiarity with OSFM, DSA, and HCAI review processes Experience working on California public sector projects Revit experience
