Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is a professional member of the R D team responsible for design, analysis, fabrication, and testing of mechanical systems, sub-systems, and components in support of new product development and the improvement of existing products. This fully experienced engineer brings strong analytical skills and problem solving capabilities to the team. Performs mechanical design activities of moderate complexity under minimal guidance. Leads cross functional product development projects of minimal to moderate complexity. Develop and execute engineering studies and analysis of problems of moderate complexity utilizing the appropriate tools and methods (DOE, Minitab, FEA, Mold flow, thermal analysis, etc.). Leads risk management activities. Maintains compliance with Quality System procedures and company policies. Provides technical mentorship and guidance, ensuring adherence to best practices. Authors, reviews, and releases comprehensive engineering documentation, including detailed drawings, specifications, test protocols, and reports. Evaluates technical capabilities and resolves production issues as necessary. Strong proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software and data management tools. Leads root cause analysis investigations for failures or quality excursions, implements corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) where necessary to improve reliability of product. Work Experience Requirements:
Experienced in the process of design, rapid prototyping, construction, test, and analysis of complex components or subsystems. Demonstrated skill in analyzing and solving complex problems and troubleshooting system issues of a complex nauture. Demonstrated working knowledge of the product development process and design control activities in a regulated industry. Ability to utilize Design of Experiments to resolve complex problems Demonstrated knowledge of risk management processes and practices. Demonstrated proficiency in design for manufacturability, serviceability, and reliability (DFx) Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards Must be able to safely move up to 25 lbs The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time. Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
Compensation and Benefits:
We pay competitively. The base salary/hourly rate range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and location. Additional compensation such as annual or commission bonuses may be available. Full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, life, disability, 401(k), CA paid sick leave, and paid time off.
