U.S. Citizens only (no dual citizenship) About the Role We are seeking a Systems Engineering Specialist to support advanced aerospace and defense programs in a highly technical, onsite environment. This contract role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in systems engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) who excel at requirements development, risk coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. You will contribute directly to the development of rocket propulsion systems , working under general supervision while managing complex engineering tasks with precision and accountability. Key ResponsibilitiesRequirements Development (60%) Develop system, subsystem, and component requirements for rocket propulsion product development Derive, allocate, and document requirements in requirements databases and formal specifications Coordinate requirements and specification change management with Integrated Product Team (IPT) members Define and align requirements verification plans with IPT stakeholders Plan and manage compliance assessment and certification activities Execute all requirements activities using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools Functional Analysis (15%) Perform functional analysis and support system trade studies Coordinate benefit/cost trade evaluations to select optimized concept baselines Support the definition of system architecture and performance objectives Risk and Opportunity Coordination (15%) Coordinate project risk and opportunity identification, assessment, and management Prepare, track, and report mitigation plans and outcomes May provide technical direction to a small team of engineers and/or technicians Estimate staffing needs, schedule tasks, and assign work to meet program milestones Communication and Stakeholder Engagement (10%) Communicate technical results through clear written documentation and oral presentations Represent the organization in meetings and teleconferences to resolve technical issues Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, coordinate, and execute engineering work Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline (Mechanical or Aerospace) 4+ years of relevant industry experience in systems engineering Experience across systems engineering disciplines, including: Requirements management Risk management Product development lifecycle Hands-on experience with requirements tools such as
IBM DOORS
Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies Ability to work onsite in a secure, classified environment Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline Knowledge of liquid rocket propulsion systems Why This Opportunity?
