Job Description

Job Description The Acoustic Systems Engineer will evaluate and validate Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technologies within large-scale data center environments. This individual will conduct acoustic testing, analyze noise and vibration data, develop testing methodologies, and work closely with engineering, facilities, and vendor teams to assess the effectiveness of noise mitigation solutions. The engineer will perform field measurements, interpret acoustic performance results, identify opportunities for optimization, and provide technical recommendations to support infrastructure and operational improvements. Skills and Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Acoustics Engineering, Noise & Vibration Engineering, Audio Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with industrial acoustics, environmental noise analysis, or sound mitigation programs
  • Experience evaluating or implementing Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technologies
  • Strong understanding of sound propagation, acoustic measurements, and vibration analysis
  • Experience performing field testing and data collection in industrial or operational environments
  • Experience developing test plans, validation methodologies, and technical recommendations
  • Proficiency with acoustic measurement equipment and analysis tools
  • Experience analyzing large datasets and presenting findings to technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Audio Engineering, or a related field
  • Data center experience
  • Experience with HVAC systems, cooling infrastructure, generators, or other large-scale mechanical systems
  • Background in Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) engineering
  • Experience using Brüel & Kjær, Siemens Simcenter, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar acoustic analysis tools
  • Experience with signal processing and microphone array technologies
