Automated Semiconductor Test Equipment Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our automation engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize software systems for our next-generation automated semiconductor chip testing equipment. You will bridge the gap between software and hardware, ensuring high-precision control and reliable test execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, code, test, and debug robust software applications for automated semiconductor test equipment. Develop and maintain software architectures using C# and the .NET framework to interface with complex hardware components. Implement precision motion control algorithms and integrate hardware drivers (e.g., motors, stages, sensors). Collaborate with Electrical and Computer Engineers to define system requirements, debug hardware-software interfaces, and optimize test throughput. Create and execute comprehensive software test plans to validate system performance and reliability. Provide technical documentation and support for system deployment and troubleshooting.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Programming Skills:
Strong proficiency in C# and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles. Experience (Preferred but not required): Hands-on experience with motion control systems, robotics, or Machine Vision. Experience in the semiconductor industry, specifically with chip testing equipment, ATE (Automatic Test Equipment), or lab instrumentation.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with hardware communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, USB, RS-232, CAN bus, GPIB). Understanding of multi-threading, real-time data processing, and UI development (WPF/WinForms). Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving skills, a strong collaborative mindset, and effective communication skills to work across cross-functional engineering teams.
