We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join us in our offices in Palo Alto, CA, to support the design of advanced composite and mechanical antenna assemblies, as well as the environmental test of these units. You will work with an experienced team that will guide you through the ins and outs of antenna design. Responsibilities Mechanical Design Engineer for a variety of antenna components to include large composite reflectors, test Mechanical Aerospace Ground Equipment (MAGE), and antenna feeds. Determine applicable specifications for each design, development, test, and/or production activity. Provide technical consultation to management and to other engineering and scientific personnel. Design, document and report on engineering progress on assigned projects. Provide floor support to the manufacturing team during builds. Test (vibration, thermal, acoustic, shock) the units you've designed. Minimum Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering or a related field. A master's degree may account for an additional two years of experience 2 years of experience, including 3D CAD modeling design and drafting (CREO preferred) as well as GD&T Preferred Qualifications M.S. degree in engineering. Experience with the design of composite parts. Additive manufacturing exposure or expertise. Design of extremely tight tolerance components. The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range. The base pay for this position within California is: $82,000.00 - $136,000.00 annually. For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, health and welfare insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
