JOB SUMMARY
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of water filtration systems, applying mechanical engineering principles to components such as pressure vessels, pipe work, valves, skids, automation systems, and electrical systems. This role blends mechanical engineering fundamentals with regulatory awareness, including Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA) compliance. Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential for fulfilling job responsibilities, which may include providing technical support by assessing customer needs via email, phone, site visits, or other correspondence to evaluate operational conditions and recommend appropriate solutions. Additional responsibilities include developing Bills of Materials (BOMs), assigning part numbers, and coordinating with Purchasing for vendor sourcing in our Acumatica ERP system. The role also involves new product development, product enhancements, and evaluating improvements to the existing product line.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Design of water filtration systems, including pressure vessels, manifolds, hydraulic and pneumatic layouts, control and automation systems, and electrical and conduit components. Engineering and design of alternative pressure vessels outside the water purification industry. Develop engineering drawings using SolidWorks, including complete dimensions, tolerances, and specifications to support accurate BOMs and production hand-off. Create technical documentation, including instruction manuals, technical guides, and shop operating procedures. Conduct on-site startup visits both domestically and internationally as required. Lead and contribute to new product development and improvements to existing product lines. Other duties as required or assigned. Apply BABAA compliance principles to design and sourcing decisions to cut lead times when possible.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years of relevant production or mechanical engineering experience. Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office suite at an intermediate to advanced level. Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients, management, and staff. Demonstrates professional conduct and appearance. Ability and willingness to grow within the organization and contribute as a team player. Ability to lift 0-20 lbs. unassisted and 50-100 lbs. assisted. Proficiency in English required; bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
SolidWorks certifications (CSWA, CSWP, or higher). Experience engineering pressure vessels, piping systems, skids, or industrial filtration equipment. Experience with ERP/MRP systems for BOM integration (Acumatica experience a plus). AutoCAD experience for legacy drawing support. Experience with manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, bending, and fabrication.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 0-20 lbs. unassisted; up to 50-100 lbs. assisted (for prototype or shop support). Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing drafting tasks. Ability to visit shop floors and field sites as needed, including occasional domestic and international travel.

$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
