Job Description

Job Title:
Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of flow sensors, temperature sensors, heaters, valves, and actuators. This role requires the use of CAD software such as Catia or SolidWorks to create engineering drawings, perform design and analysis, and ensure designs meet both internal and customer requirements. Your work will involve producing designs consistently and economically, generating parts lists and digital bills of material, and developing procedures for parts and systems. Responsibilities Design flow sensors, temperature sensors, heaters, valves, and actuators. Utilize CAD software like Catia or SolidWorks for engineering drawings. Perform design and analysis to meet internal and customer requirements. Produce economical and consistent designs. Generate accurate parts lists and digital bills of material, including sub-assemblies and hardware. Develop procedures such as Acceptance Test Procedures and Qualification Test Procedures. Create 3D models and 2D drawings of parts and assemblies using ANSI and
ASME Y14
geometric dimensioning & tolerancing. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent field. 8+ years of experience in engineering design and development. Experience with design of mechanical components/systems made of composites, elastomers, and metals. Familiarity with aerospace composite and metal manufacturing methods. Proficiency in CAD modeling and engineering drawings using SolidWorks and/or Catia. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to share knowledge methodically. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Additional Skills & Qualifications Self-driven individual with the ability to work independently. Ample experience with design of ECS components, ducts, and multi-layer panels. Work Environment This is a 6-month contract position with the potential for a full-time opportunity based on performance. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The position involves reporting to the Design Engineering Manager. The work environment encourages knowledge sharing and collaboration among team members. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Valencia, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $63.46 - $91.34/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
