Learn about the Trident II D5 Fleet Ballistic Missile. We want you to support the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) D5LE2 Program in the Propulsion, Structures, Ordnance, and Controls (PSOC) team by joining the Structures Mechanical Engineering group as a Thermal Protection System (TPS) Certified Principal Engineer (CPE). The selected candidate will be involved in decomposing and verifying requirements, designing structures TPS components through all phases of the development and production lifecycle, and bring designs, hardware, analysis, and test results through various reviews, into test flights, and on to production.

US citizenship and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance As a TPS CPE on the FBM Life Extension 2 (LE2) program, you will: Own the scope to develop and qualify the structural thermal protection systems Create and execute test plans with appropriate IPT stakeholders Provide technical inputs in required data products, proposals, and Technical Interchange Meetings Validate and verify compliance to TPS requirements Collaborate with manufacturing engineers throughout build cycle Execute in a fast-paced environment Create and communicate at various program reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, Working Groups, etc. Effectively communicate to various levels of leadership, inclusive of Navy counterparts, both technical and non-technical The information below reflects the standard job description for this position Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.has context menu Basic Qualifications Relevant experience and education as a mechanical, materials, or related engineer in a design, manufacturing, production, or related role Relevant experience in materials development activities in aerospace applications Microsoft Office suite of tools (PowerPoint, Excel, etc) Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance Desired Skills Demonstrated performance of being part of program development reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) Proven self-starter with demonstrated capability to proactively work through difficult technical design constraints Experience with frequent customer interface and leadership interface Experience with test planning Experience with manufacturing and Design for X Experience with Model Based Engineering Practices Project management knowledge with Risks and Opps, Earned Value, schedule inputs, estimating resources
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range:

For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
