Requirements:
About the Role As a Mechanical Engineer at JFT, you will support an interdisciplinary engineering squad developing custom mechanical equipment and systems for nuclear, hazardous, and other high-integrity applications. You will own defined design tasks while receiving direction and mentorship from senior technical leads. We are looking for engineers of varying levels of experience. Candidates will be reviewed based on experience and will be evaluated and hired into the level that best aligns with their qualifications, experience, and the needs of the business. Compensation will be determined within the applicable salary range for the selected level, consistent with internal equity and applicable laws.
Mechanical Engineer II Typical Experience:
2+ years
Salary Range:
$90,000.00to $110,000 per year
Mechanical Engineer III Typical Experience:
7+ years
Salary Range:
$110,000 to $122,000 per year
Mechanical Engineer IV Typical Experience:
12+ years
Salary Range:
$122,000 to $139,000 What You Bring Successful candidates will have: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. 2+ years of mechanical engineering and design experience. Experience with mechanical engineering calculations (FEA, stress/fatigue/vibration analysis) Experience working in a manufacturing environment - machining, welding, assembly, testing Working knowledge of complex mechanical equipment, fabrications, manufacturing techniques and processes Ability to operate both 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D design (Inventor/SolidWorks) software packages Possess basic business acumen and commercial awareness Strong desire to collaborate and work on a team of engineers Strong and professional communication skills Proven ability to proactively identify technical risks and navigate practical mitigation strategies to reduce risk and exposure The ability to build trusted customer relationships and confidently navigate complex challenges. Equivalent hands-on experience and demonstrated success will also be considered. Occasional travel may be required, typically less than 10%.
Typical Working Conditions:
Primarily an office environment with periodic exposure to the fabrication/machine shop and outdoor testing areas
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work on a computer, standing or sitting, for most of the day and operate standard office equipment. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members, customers and vendors is essential. May occasionally lift and carry items, typically under 25lbs.
