These include diesel generators, pumps, condensers, heat exchangers, valves, hydraulic components, atmosphere control equipment, and other engineered components. Component Engineers perform varied project management tasks including program planning, specification and procedure development, preparation of technical correspondence, technical manual review, coordination with other Electric Boat departments, review of vendor deliverables (drawings, design reports, procedures, technical correspondence, calculations and test reports), qualification and production test support, supplier oversight, and cost and schedule control. Position requires regular interface with other engineering disciplines, management, naval personnel, prime contractor technical personnel, vendors, purchasing/supply-chain, quality control, trades and other Electric Boat support personnel. Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Marine Engineering 5 years+ of post graduate engineering experience
Preferred:
Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Marine Engineering Component development experience Program and or project management experience
