Job Description
Job Description As a design engineer within Nimbus Power Systems, the candidate is responsible for managing all the fuel cell engine design details from concept through production. The job requires a strong background in mechanical design and CAD tools. Nimbus is looking for qualified engineers who are motivated to learn and proactive in work execution. The job will also involve hands-on integration of Nimbus fuel cell engines into vehicles. Responsibilities Design parts and assemblies for fuel cell engine development CAD development of parts and assemblies in SolidWorks Perform mechanical analysis of parts and assemblies (pressure drop, fluid distribution, linear and non-linear loading) Design parts and assemblies for cost and track costs (Cost Modeling) Develop and maintain component requirements Develop and maintain Process and Instrumentation Diagrams Review and implement codes & standards Interacting with suppliers for part procurement (i.e., design to drawings to quotes to PO to delivery) Interacting with suppliers for component development (i.e., component search, review and interpret component specifications, integrate STEP files into engine design) Develop and execute test plans Analyze component test and field data Spec and procure manufacturing capital equipment Program and run a milling machine to make stainless, aluminum, carbon, or plastic parts in-house Travel (Field Support) Professionally interact and communicate with customers Maintain a clean and organized work environment Requirements Must maintain a valid US passport Must maintain an active and valid US State driver's license Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering On-site M-F at our Groton CT facility
