Job Description

Job Title:
Mechanical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to design, build, and activate production tools, launch pads, and recovery systems. This role involves designing and analyzing mechanical systems for launch pads, recovery, and production tooling while demonstrating complete end-to-end project ownership. You will coordinate the build, testing, and activation of the hardware you design, working closely with launch operations teams to ensure products meet form, function, and aesthetic expectations. Utilize your technical knowledge to make development decisions based on cost and schedule considerations, and present cost and schedule trade proposals to leadership. Responsibilities Design, build, and activate production tools, launch pads, and recovery systems. Demonstrate complete end-to-end project ownership and coordinate the build, testing, and activation of hardware. Work closely with launch operations teams to ensure products meet form, function, and aesthetic expectations. Make development decisions based on cost and schedule considerations. Present cost and schedule trade proposals to leadership. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Experience using design software such as NX, CATIA, Creo, or Solidworks. Experience conducting analysis using ANSYS, ABAQUS, or FEMAP software. 1+ years of experience in a professional setting designing, analyzing, or building mechanical structures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Project management experience in the aerospace, industrial, or power generation industry. Strong understanding and application of GD&T. Ability to work well in an integrated collaborative team environment, including interactions with technicians, engineers, and managers. Passion for hands-on work and the ability to lead projects throughout their entirety. Work Environment The work environment encourages collaboration and integrates daily interactions with technicians, engineers, and managers. You will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on work as needed to enable project completion. A proactive, self-starter attitude is valued, and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, parts lists, and specifications is essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cocoa, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
