EP is looking for an experienced mechanical engineer to take engineering responsibility for sustaining engineering efforts and engineering support of products released to the field.
This experienced individual will interface directly with project management, product managers, and operations on product improvements, engineering changes, and compliance requirements for products throughout their lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Prepare mechanical designs for various electrical Ability to create all drawings, models and 3D printed models for assigned products Create BOM's and Costed BOM's Engineering ownership of assigned products to ensure they are designed to meet all industry codes and standards to include NEC/NFPA, NEMA, UL, CSA, IEC, CEC, SAE, Prop 65 or other industry governing bodies requirements as necessary Ensure all engineering processes and protocols are followed for all assigned design projects to include FEA, DVP&R, DFMEA, design reviews, FAIR's, ECR and PRAPs. Create design specifications per Program Manager and Project Manager requests. Work closely with Project Management to get assigned projects through the stage gate approval process. Create prototypes for testing and evaluation Coordinate engineering and PRAP builds with operations engineer and operations manager. Develop certification plans for products and coordinate actual third-party certification units for testing in conjunction with Product Compliance Manager Work with operations engineering to ensure manufacturability of assigned products Lead design validation testing for assigned products and projects Understand and remain current on latest engineering and product trends to ensure continued product development to the latest industry demand. Required Education & Experience Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering 2+ years of mechanical and/or machinery design 2+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience is preferred. Proficiency in Solidworks and other CAD applications to include simulations Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Office, Project, Excel, PowerPoint Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work independently, as well as in collaboration with other engineering and non-technical staff.
