Job Description

Job Title:
Engineer -
Manufacturing Tooling Location:
Merritt Island, Florida (On-Site)
Job Summary:
We are supporting a search for an experienced engineering professional to design and release simple tooling that supports build and production flow. Our team is looking for someone who can combine strong mechanical fundamentals, practical manufacturing knowledge, and careful technical judgment to help deliver safe, effective tooling solutions.
Responsibilities:
Design, create, and release CAD models and engineering drawings for simple tooling in accordance with
ASME Y14.5
standards. Solve technical design challenges involving assembly fixtures, material-handling equipment, rotisseries, test fixtures, structural weldments, environmental chambers, and custom machinery. Manage tooling projects from concept through commissioning, including vendor selection, procurement, fabrication, inspection, installation, and proof testing. Collaborate with component designers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Integration Engineering to support safety, cost, quality, cycle time, delivery, reliability, service life, and maintainability.
Required:
B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience. Experience with tooling design, fabrication, and procurement. Proven experience with CAD-based design software for modeling and drafting, including Creo Parametric and Windchill CAD/PDM systems. Solid understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing fundamentals, including GD&T, free-body diagrams, load cases, and basic hand calculations for common failure modes. Three or more years of direct manufacturing experience.
