Mechanical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join a dedicated mechanical engineering team in Niceville. This role is ideal for someone with experience in rapid prototyping, a in Department of Defense (DOD) projects, and a keen eye for design for manufacturing. Responsibilities Develop models from concept design and design mounts, enclosures for electronics, considering g-shock and vibration. Create 3D parts for proof of concept and then machine the part for the final application. Design with variable tolerances depending on the application. Engage in research and development, focusing on prototyping and design for manufacturability. Essential Skills Experience in mechanical engineering and mechanical design. Proficiency in design software such as Creo and SolidWorks. Knowledge of missile airframe design and 3D modeling. Familiarity with rapid prototyping and machining parts. Additional Skills & Qualifications Over 6 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer. Experience with DOD projects. Capability to oversee a mechanical design team. Experience with design for manufacturability. Work Environment This role involves working in diverse settings, including office, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing areas. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Niceville, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
