Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Pump Package Engineer specializing in Fire & Mechanical systems to join our innovative engineering team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the design, development, and integration of pump packages within complex industrial projects. As a key contributor, you will drive project success through technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and a passion for mechanical engineering excellence. Your work will directly impact the safety, efficiency, and reliability of critical fire protection systems and mechanical packages across diverse industries. Duties Lead the mechanical design and development of pump packages, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as NFPA 20 standards. Utilize CAD software such as SolidWorks to create detailed mechanical drawings, schematics, and 3D models for product development projects. Make fire pump selections and work with engineers to design packages for their application. Work with representatives to quote and submit product for approval to generate sales. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project management, manufacturing, and systems engineering to develop integrated solutions aligned with project schedules. Apply root cause analysis techniques to troubleshoot system issues during testing or operation, implementing corrective actions promptly. Prepare technical documentation including mechanical schematics, assembly instructions, and building information modeling (BIM) tools for manufacturing and installation processes. Experience Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on mechanical product development projects. Strong background in centrifugal pumps, fire pumps, HVAC pumps, in both design and application in packaged pumping equipment - including related controls and sequence of operations. Strong background in mechanical engineering principles, machine design, and mechanical detail drawings adhering to NFPA 20 and ASME. Proficiency in Solidworks, Draftsight (2D), Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat. Experience with project scheduling, project management methodologies, and delivering engineering solutions on time within complex project timelines.
