Food Service Worker Excelsior Prep Charter School Inc - 3.7 Temple Terrace, FL Job Details $15 - $19 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Food Handler Certification Full Job Description Position Summary The Food Service Worker supports the daily meal service program at Excelsior Prep Charter Schools by assisting with food preparation, serving meals, maintaining cleanliness, and helping ensure a safe and efficient cafeteria operation. This position contributes to a positive dining experience for students and staff by following food safety practices, supporting team operations, and providing courteous service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with basic food preparation, portioning, packaging, and serving meals and snacks. Set up and replenish serving lines, utensils, condiments, and meal items as needed. Serve students and staff in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner. Follow established sanitation, safety, and food handling procedures at all times. Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, serving stations, tables, trays, kitchen tools, and cafeteria equipment. Wash dishes, utensils, pans, and other food service items according to established procedures. Assist with receiving, storing, rotating, and organizing food and supply deliveries. Monitor food temperatures and report concern to the Cafeteria Manager or supervisor. Help maintain orderly meal periods and a clean cafeteria environment. Support meal counting, simple recordkeeping, and end-of-day cleanup procedures as directed. Work cooperatively with cafeteria staff, school staff, and administrators. Perform other duties assigned by school leadership. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous food service or cafeteria experience preferred but not always required. Knowledge of basic sanitation, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness practices. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work as part of a team. Good communication and customer service skills. Dependability, punctuality, and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a school setting and interact appropriately with children and staff. Food handler certification is preferred or required based on local regulations.
