Job Responsibilities Provide mechanical engineering support for production and sustaining engineering activities involving ruggedized displays and electronic assemblies. Investigate and resolve mechanical manufacturing issues directly on the production floor. Lead RCCA investigations for mechanical nonconformances, documenting root causes, corrective actions, and verification results. Develop and implement engineering solutions to address recurring production defects and assembly issues. Create, modify, and maintain 3D mechanical models and detailed drawings using Creo, SolidWorks, and Inventor as applicable. Update engineering documentation to reflect design modifications, corrective actions, and manufacturing feedback. Prepare, review, and process ECRs, ECOs, and BOM updates. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical integration issues affecting displays, enclosures, and electronic packaging. Support Quality Assurance with nonconforming material disposition, failure analysis, and corrective action recommendations. Participate in prototype builds, first article inspections, and production ramp-up activities. Develop and review manufacturing work instructions, production routers, and inspection documentation. Evaluate mechanical designs for manufacturability, assembly efficiency, and production compatibility. Coordinate engineering changes with Manufacturing, Quality, and other technical departments. Analyze component failures, dimensional discrepancies, and assembly defects to determine corrective design actions. Support implementation and verification of mechanical design changes in production.
