in Glenwood, Illinois, United States Job Description Nalco Water has an immediate need for a Quality Engineer with an electrical engineering background to support our equipment manufacturing plant located in Glenwood, IL. What is in it for you: The Quality Engineer will be responsible for supporting all commercialized equipment product lines produced at the Glenwood IL facility. This will include technical support and troubleshooting, acting as a liaison between Production and Corporate Engineering / R D on equipment specifications, including but not limited to bills-of-material, mechanical/electrical drawings, and quality testing parameters. What You will
Do:
Supports fabrication and testing of all equipment withing the manufacturing plants to ensure compliance with the specifications provided by Corporate Engineering. Point-of-contact for production associates on any equipment specification issues; communicate with Corporate Engineering as needed; ensure document changes are communicated and implemented. Creates and maintains manufacturing specific documentation, such as internal specifications, work instructions, or job-aids. Troubleshoots quality issues during fabrication and quality testing; documents failures and performs root-cause analysis. Plant point-of-contact for Engineering Change Management process, ensuring proper approval and implementation of change. Creates and manages projects aimed at improving the manufacturability of standard products, improving safety, efficiency, and quality. Works closely with the Innovation Engineers on New Product Introduction as it pertains to manufacturing; manage prototype builds and provide feedback to Design team; coordinate plant activities to prepare for production release. Assists in design and execution of capital projects Site representative for custom project kick-offs and internal/external factory acceptance testing Develop test fixtures for testing control panels prior to installation Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, layout, and wiring diagrams Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with PLCs and electrical equipment, and repair or replace components as needed Work with other engineers to implement upgrades and modifications to existing equipment Document all work performed, including testing and maintenance results, as well as any modifications made to the electrical systems Demonstrate the ability to work in a safety focused environment
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related with electrical focus 2 years of experience in an electrical support role in a production environment Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, layout, and wiring diagrams Experience in programming and troubleshooting PLC/HMI systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.) Experience with configuration, installation, start up and commissioning of electro-mechanical components, motors, pumps, drives, sensors, switches, and power supplies Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously ERP/MRP experience (e.g., familiar working with Bills of Material within an ERP environment) Able to work in a fabrication environment (i.e.,...
