Job Description We are searching for an Mechanical Engineer/Designer to join our growing 17 person consulting engineering firm located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. We will consider engineers or designers with all levels of experience. You will be involved in the design of virtually every type of building - we specialize in long term owner occupied buildings such as educational, healthcare, and governmental facilities where our attention to detail and quality designs are valued and appreciated. What You'll Do Field survey and evaluate existing facility HVAC systems Perform HVAC load calculations. Present system options at project inception Meet with architects and building owners Design/draft/model HVAC and Piping systems Collaborate with our Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Engineers Author Mechanical/HVAC specifications Perform field inspections of your project during construction Prepare facility Mechanical/HVAC system reports What You Bring Experience in AutoCad and/or Revit Excellent oral and written communication skills Knowledge of building codes Desire to learn and grow in a relaxed, team atmosphere Friendly and helpful disposition EIT Certificate, or ability to obtain EIT Certificate and working towards PE license is a plus but not required.
