This is an onsite position. Are you ready to engineer cutting-edge solutions that directly impact the operational capabilities of the Navy and Marine Corps? As a core Senior Mechanical Engineer on our innovative team, you'll be deeply involved in the full spectrum of engineering activities - from initial research and design to seamless integration, rigorous testing, and insightful analysis. You'll focus on developing critical defensive cyber technologies, ensuring mission assurance, advancing command and control systems, and building resilient tactical networks. Your efforts will directly translate into enhanced effectiveness for the warfighter. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead the design, modeling, and detailing of complex mechanical enclosures, ruggedized tactical hardware, and structural assemblies using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo). Perform FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for structural, thermal, vibration, and shock performance to ensure hardware meets military standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-167, MIL-STD-901D). Oversee prototype fabrication, plan test methodologies, manage environmental testing, and resolve design flaws identified during qualification testing. Conduct Design Reviews (PDR/CDR), generate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and mentor junior engineering staff. Partner with electrical engineers, systems engineers, and program managers to integrate mechanical designs into broader multi-disciplinary architectures. Work closely with machine shops and fabrication vendors to ensure Manufacturability (DFM/DFA) and quality control compliance.
