full-time Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer 2. The work will be done onsite full-time in Lafayette, IN . This is a long-term 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $38/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay). Job Summary We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support new product introduction (NPI) engineering activities through engine modeling, bill of material (BOM) management, and parts coordination. This role will work closely with engineering leads to ensure product data, configurations, and documentation are accurate and ready to support development and manufacturing. The position offers a mix of office-based engineering work and shop floor collaboration, making it ideal for an early-career engineer looking to build experience in product development and manufacturing . Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain engine models and engineering documentation for new product development. Manage bills of materials (BOMs), parts ordering, and product configuration data. Research, design, test, and support mechanical components, equipment, and systems. Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, blueprints, and technical documentation to support project execution. Investigate equipment or product issues and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve technical challenges. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or another engineering discipline (required). 1-2+ years of engineering experience (internship experience will be considered). Experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation. Experience using CAD software or other engineering design applications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting product development, engine systems, or manufacturing engineering projects. Familiarity with bill of material (BOM) management and parts ordering processes. Experience working in manufacturing or heavy equipment environments. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams. Why This Role?
