Tooling Engineer Hours Worked:

Authorities For:

Tool Design & Review:

evaluate tool designs for proper gating, cooling and ejection systems, utilizing mold flow analysis. 2.

File Management:

responsible for incoming data file system and file management. Updating customer files and records to ensure the most up-to-date data is present and verified. 3. Tool development & validation: Lead tooling trials (samples) and validate tools to ensure they meet engineering specifications and produce quality parts (PPAP) 4.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Establish preventative maintenance schedules and provide technical support to troubleshoot molding defects (flash, warp) 5.

Collaboration:

Work with product design and manufacturing teams to optomise plastic part designs for better molding, performance, and cost reduction. Work with product teams to keep projects on time.

Needed competencies include:

1.

Education:

Associate degree in mechanical Engineering, manufacturing Engineering, or related field (0r equivalent experience) 2.

Experience:

5 plus years of experience in plastic injection molding, with specific experience in mold design, build, and repair. 3.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, Geometric dimensioning and tooling 4.

Knowledge:

Deep understanding of plastic materials, mold steel types, hot/cold runner systems, and molding processes. 5.

Work Invironment:

this role typically operates in both office (design) and on the manufacturing floor. with direct communication with sampling, troubleshooting, and discussing repairs with our onsite and corporate tooling.

Pay:

$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
