FT was selected for a U.S. Department of Defense APFIT award , supporting deployment of our systems across multiple Air Force maintenance depots. This marks a major step as we scale production and expand our engineering team. We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our small, highly technical team and help design, integrate, and bring to life next-generation machine systems. What You'll Be Working On You'll be involved across the full lifecycle of our mechanical systems, including: Designing complex electro-mechanical assemblies for advanced CNC and automated machines Developing precision, heavy-load, hydraulic, and electromechanical assemblies Creating and maintaining 3D CAD models and detailed drawings Performing finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate and optimize designs Using model-based design methods for dynamic systems (e.g., MATLAB) Developing qualification and verification test procedures and executing those tests Integrating mechanical systems with controls, electrical, and manufacturing teams Supporting machine build, installation, operation, and maintenance activities Maintaining accurate engineering documentation and revision control This role blends design, analysis, integration, and hands-on problem solving . Experience with machine shops, CNC machining, MasterCAM, or higher-volume production systems is a plus — but strong fundamentals, ownership, and execution matter just as much .
